Review of the Bergan Turbo Scratcher cat toy and refills.

The Bergan TurboScratcher is my cat, Wilson’s favorite toy of all time. I originally bought this toy about 10 years ago in an effort to save my stairs from Wilson’s claws. It worked really well!. Wilson actually used the scratcher rather than using my carpeted stairs.
The only drawback I found was that I was often woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of Wilson playing with the ball that can be batted around the circle! (I suppose that problem could have been easily fixed by picking the toy up at night, but I didn’t want to deprive the little guy of his favorite toy!)

The Bergan TurboScratcher is plastic and sits on the floor. It is very sturdy for cats to scratch on so they will often use this toy even if they won’t use a verticle type scratching post. The “scratching” part is a round sheet of corrigated cardboard that is about 1.5 inches thick. When your cat has shredded the cardboard to bits, you simply flip the board over and use the other side. Refills can be purchased for a very low price. I found that one refill lasted about 4-6 months. It is very good value for your money!
